Plain language. No fine-print fog.

This policy explains what happens to the information you send through the Jonathan Schmidt Photography inquiry form.

What I collect

The inquiry form collects your name, email address, selected service, message, submission time, and email-delivery status. It also creates a short-lived, secret-keyed identifier from your network address to limit spam. The identifier expires after one hour. Your raw network address is not stored in the inquiry database.

Why I use it

I use the information to answer your inquiry, discuss photography or restoration work, prevent duplicate submissions, and protect the form from abuse. I do not sell inquiry information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Where it goes

Your inquiry remains in the website’s private inquiry system. Cloudflare Email Service processes a copy to deliver a notification to my verified business email address. It does not send an automatic confirmation to you.

How long it stays

Website inquiry records are automatically removed after 18 months. I may delete them sooner when they are no longer needed. If an inquiry becomes a client relationship, records required for contracts, accounting, or legal obligations may be retained separately for the applicable period.

Your choices

You can ask what inquiry information I hold about you, request a correction, or ask for deletion through the inquiry form. I may need to confirm your identity before releasing or changing personal information.

Photographs

Do not send photographs through the first inquiry. For restoration work, I’ll reply with the appropriate way to provide scanned or digital files.

Image use and licensing

Unless a photograph says otherwise, my original photography and the site graphics here are copyright Jonathan Schmidt Photography. They are here to be viewed, not quietly borrowed for another website, advertisement, social post, or publication. If you would like to license one of my original photographs, send me an inquiry with the image and intended use. I’ll confirm whether it is available and what permission is needed. Client photographs and source images submitted for restoration may have separate rights and are not automatically available for reuse.
